Adobe Photoshop | Adobe Illustrator
The first part of this project involved researching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by reading the play. Reading the play gave me a good background into how I would portray things in the poster.
My first sketch was made using Illustrator. I took some of the ideas about the play I was able to pick up on and used them when I made my initial version. The initial idea was tohave  Nurse Ratched as the centerpiece with the inmates pocking at her.
I next started to render my image in Blender; this step took the most time, but the variations I developed were useful for me in developing the ideas I had in the initial sketch. I changed the bodies of the inmates from just simple shapes to shards of glass, and I played around with how I would depict Nurse Ratched before I landed on my final version.
This led me into my initial composition of the poster, where I now thought about image placement in relation to type. I was also able to experiment with type and see what worked best in relation to the image.
